how did you get here?
HIIIIII I made this website because the way the internet seems to be going (regarding censorship and data collection) is scaring me and I wanted a place where I could be unabashedly myself. I started making this site on 20/08/2025, though I made my account 3 years prior. I've been programming since I was about 7 and finally figured I should use those skills after wasting a year in uni for it

Kia ora!!! I'm Oakryn, a queer autistic furry wierdo from Aotearoa (also known as New Zealand)! I started programming at age 7 (ish) when my parents put me in a coding after school program in primary school, and bought some python classes for me to do on our janky family windows xp family computer. I was raised in a household that was very technology-forward, as my parents believed it was the future and wanted to make sure their kids could buy a house when they grew up (only half joking about that last part). That wasn't to say we had lots of technology (#poor), but my parents made sure that my siblings and I knew our way around what technology we had, how to safely use the internet, so on and so forth.
This site will contain mostly ramblings about my various special interests (currently dc comics/superheroes), as well as essays about things that piss me off (mostly governments and silicon valley), and maybe the occasional art piece when I can get out of art block for long enough to finish it. Also I tend to write overly formally online for some reason, so I apologise if my writing comes across as too proper etc, I can't help it ;-;. I haven't set up a guestbook on the site just yet, so if you wanna talk to me about anything, message me on my tumblr (linked below). This is VERY MUCH a work in progress so you will see a LOT of broken links.
